I grew up on the beautiful Crystal Coast of North Carolina and I live there today. I began my life in art at an early age, learning to draw and paint from my grandmother, a southwestern landscape artist. I attended the School of Art at East Carolina University and have been a commerical artist and freelance artist for many years. Several of my designs have been used by the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. I was selected as featured artist and commissioned to paint the 2001-2002 art for the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum print. I was also selected as the artist for the North Carolina Seafood Festival in 2003 for their yearly print. I work in many different mediums and my subject matter includes portraiture, wildlife, seascapes and landscapes. My goal in any painting or drawing is to capture the personality of that subject and to tell a story to the viewer. In many of my coastal paintings, I try to impart to the viewer the rich heritage and traditions of the local people. I am available for commissioned work and my artwork can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
